Surrey County Council
Surrey County Council is based at County Hall on Cockshot Hill, Reigate. The authority was created in 1889, and has been Conservative-dominated since 1973 – save for falling under 'no overall control' at the 1993 local elections. The council is responsible for services that include adult social care, children's services (including education), roads and transport, libraries, countryside, public health, Surrey Fire & Rescue Service, emergency management and Trading Standards
